Candise Wai is an abstract artist based in Oxfordshire, originally from Hong Kong. Her work explores the emotional structure of colour, using layers and texture to navigate feelings of tension and resolution. By allowing intuition to lead her process, she creates spaces where viewers can sense both conflict and calm within complexity.
"Painting is my way of moving through inner conflict and uncertainty. I use shifting colour, rhythm, and gesture to express tension, searching for harmony within struggle. Where words fail, my art becomes a space to hold contradictions - strength and fragility, chaos and peace together. Through each layer, I hope to offer viewers not escape, but a moment to witness and accept the conflicting currents that shape us."
