"The Wind Lifts My Spirit," Oil on Canvas, 40 x 30 inches

"What bring me joy as an artist is creating art to inspire hope and to counter the
negativity and chaos we are all constantly bombarded with.

There is a narrative dimension to my art. I focus on meaningful, fleeting moments that are easy to miss in our hurried day to day life, moments when we connect with our true inner self, when our spirit soars.

I choose subject matter that epitomizes and captures uplifting human emotion, the priceless beauty of our planet and our inter-connectedness. And I paint about our relationship with planet earth – our nest, and our connections with the other creatures we share this planet with. 

​My daughter was the inspiration for the painting. She climbed to the top of the highest hill in this surreal landscape at Watson Lake, Arizona. She threw her arms open, feeling the strong wind blowing and I could feel her joy and see her spirit soar."
