Karin Lykke Groth (born 1967 in Denmark), is a visual artist with modern watercolour technique and pigments on paper, canvas and textile as her preferred medium.

Many of Karin’s works are 1m x 1.5m and larger, which is untraditional, challenging
and demanding!

Her solo exhibitions most often consist of 30-50 works in a combination of larger
works accompanied by smaller studies.

Karin has a preference for north Atlantic motifs and many of her study tours and
working trips have been, and still are, in Scandinavia; latterly to Lofoten and Alta in
northern Norway; Iceland and the Faroe Islands. These study tours have inspired
most of Karin’s richly contrasted landscape paintings.

Lino- and lithoprinting and decorating ceramics are other sources of inspiration
and artistic expression.

Karin’s background is from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen
1986-1994, followed by course in modern watercolour techniques at the Gerlesborg
Art School in Sweden and courses in printing techniques i Denmark.

Since 2011 Karin has taught modern watercolour techniques and, in her capacity
as course leader, arranges weekend and week-long courses in Denmark, northern
Norway and Iceland. Karin also teaches watercolour to American exchange students
at DIS in Copenhagen.

Karin has participated in a number of juried exhibitions. She had her professional
debut at The Juried Artists’ Summer Exhibition KS20 in 2020 and is a member
in BKF / Danish Visual Artists, Danske Grafikere and The Danish Women´s Artist
association, KKS.
