"Self-integration," Digital Collage, 100 x 52 cm

"The artwork 'Self-integration' refers to inner conflict of a human being. It can be caused by many different factors, like inconsistency, internal contradictions, doubts, or trauma.

This state of mind is disturbing and distressing. It is an uncomfortable situation that can cause a lot of anxiety and stress. Still, it is an integral part of human’s life to face many inner conflicts and to solve them. It is also the aspect of civilization and progress that we are living in stressful envirement. The only solution is self-integration which is a healing process.

I have used my own self-portaits to illustrate these two states. On the left side there is a digital collage which represents inner conflict. To illustrate it, I have used multiplication of an image. On the right side, I used similar image but in more static composition. I have also used blended colours of the background, which represents transpiring state of mind."
