Artist's Statement
|
"This series depicts the life journey of little kun fish Rocky from birth, growth, imprisonment to awakening and resistance, wandering, then dormant transformation, inner exploration and nirvana rebirth into a colorful rock. This is also a reflection of Xuan Tan’s own spiritual path, expressing her belief that even amid countless hardships, one can still face life bravely and strive toward light. In the creative process, she also invented an integrated art therapy, organically combining psychology, medicine with body art, action painting and easel painting. The creation starts with meditation to deeply connect the body and mind, followed by dancing to music—painting with both hands and feet through movements to express physical and mental feelings and achieve in-depth healing. The series consists of 8 works, arranged in the order of the life journey as follows." |
